Mata Ortiz Pottery has spread rapidly from the time it was discovered
over forty years ago. It is incredible to learn that one man in a small
village in northern Mexico was creating exquisite pottery that rivaled
the finest native American artisans--and he'd done it without any
instruction other than the trial and error that it took to do it.
Juan Quezada, his family, and many members of the village have
been working to hone the excellence of this craft for the last forty
years. The results of which can be found in major collections and
museums all over the world.
We offer the best of the artists shown in "The Miracle of Mata Ortiz"
We update this site with new work as we get new inventory. However,
since our prices are the lowest of any gallery, the work sells quickly.
