Ron Fritts:

Ron Fritts has led a life motivated by the creative impulse. He was awarded an
MFA in painting after receiving numerous awards as an undergraduate.  Since
then artistic efforts have been diverse: a visual merchandising designer in New
York; founder of RF Studios, Inc. NY for the manufacture and national
distribution of his art; concurrently maintained a Madison Ave gallery  (The
Fritts Collection, Inc) for his art and designs. This gallery lasted twenty five
years along with two other locations in Manhattan.  Eventually he discontinued
national distribution to focus attention on fashion design while developing his
painting. In addition to these business ventures, Ron was an assistant
professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology  for 37 years.  “Everyone is
born with the creative impulse not recognized by all, but some are fortunate to
develop this creative energy. Every design, every piece of clothing, every
drawing and every painting is an opportunity to express the beauty of life that
surrounds us. For me, life and art are delicately bound  and continue to inspire
my curiosity”.

His creative energy has currently led him after retirement to locate in the
Southwest to concentrate and further his painting. What you see now is the
culmination of these disciplines in an effort to capture the enormous beauty of
the Southwest and to share his vision. His goal remains “to capture the
essence of life in each and every product that emerges from the extraordinary
universal impulse to create and to produce a product for others to enjoy and
reflect on and awaken the need for all to share in developing their own
creativity.”

Ron Fritts recently won the Jan 2007 annual juried exhibition ‘Award for
Excellence’ at the Tubac Center of the Arts in Tubac, AZ , for his acrylic/oil on
plexiglas painting titled Cool Light at Ramsey Canyon. The painting is sold. In
addition, he was awarded The People’s Choice Award at the conclusion of the
same show.
